Top 10 Reasons to Run A Ragnar

So, you’re tired of the same old same old, and you’re ready to experience something truly different… Get ready because we’re about to tell you why a little relay called Ragnar is just what you need to shake things up!

#1 RAGNAR ISN’T JUST A RUNNING EVENT

Yes, you will run… and run and run again or maybe walk (that’s okay too)! Think of this as an alternative night out with your friends both new and old. Think of it as a festival that you just so happen to run at. It can be as challenging or as chill as you want it to be.

#2 STRANGERS BECOMING TEAMMATES

You most likely won’t know all of your team members… but even if you start the weekend on a team full of strangers, you will in fact leave the weekend as friends.

#3 TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK

Running is often something we do alone (and we don’t want to discredit the power and beauty of the individual run or a solo race) but something magical happens when you’re on a team, working toward the same goal. Ragnar is truly a team event. Whether you’re on a full or ultra team you will accomplish something great together!

#4 RUN DAY, NIGHT, AND DAY AGAIN

If you decide to sign up for a Road or Trail event, you will run through the night, under the stars and a glowing moon. The only thing that will break the silence is the sound of running feet. Not to mention that you will literally light up the night (with your headlamps). This is when the fun really starts. Do you realize how badass this is? To run through the night?!

#5 RAGNAR IS AN EXPERIENCE

This sounds corny, but experiencing a Ragnar is truly living. And we mean really, really living. We’re not here to just exist (that’s what potatoes do). At our core, we were born to be curious and explore this great and beautiful world. Ragnar is traveling and traversing trails in your own backyard or stumbling upon landscapes you never knew existed.

#6 EXPLORE CITIES AND TRAILS FROM COAST TO COAST

Mother nature aside, you’ll explore the nooks and crannies of cities, towns, and communities. On Road, maybe you’ll stop and have the best ice cream you’ve ever tasted or visit a small town coffee shop that just hits different because you’ve been up all night. After a Trail event, you’ll have the rest of the weekend to explore. This offers a great opportunity to support small businesses while soaking up all the sights.

#7 GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

Ragnar shakes up the ordinary and gets you out of your comfort zone. Do you want to look back on your life (or your weekend) and say you Netflixed and chilled the whole time? Ragnar creates moments that will allow you to look inside yourself or create lifelong memories that don’t happen at other running events.

#8 SUNSETS ARE PRETTIER WHEN YOU’VE EARNED THEM

Sure, there are a few other ways we can think of that are nice (sunset cruise anyone?), but imagine catching your breath at the top of a mountain, overlooking a view you’ve never seen before. It’s the golden hour. You take a turn, whizz past trees with the wind rushing ever so softly in your ear, and fly down into the exchange passing the baton off to the next runner… It will leave you daydreaming, wishing you could relive that moment over and over again.

#9 BE AWAKE TO SEE THE SUNRISE

Let’s be honest. How many sunrises have you seen in your lifetime? Actually, don’t answer that. But safe to say there is a unique calm as soon as the morning light starts to creep in, cutting through the darkness of the night. Maybe you’re running when dawn first hits, or maybe you’re waiting for your runner. Either way, you know what you and your team and aaaaall the other teams have gone through. It’s good for the soul and it’s a sweet feeling to get the first kiss from the sun.

#10 EVERYONE IS WELCOME

This is one of the most welcoming communities in the running industry. You don’t have to be a certain age or fitness level. You are welcome and we would like to personally invite you to join us. We have a format for everyone. You don’t need to be the hometown hero who wins every 5K (although you might want to recruit them to be on your team). You don’t even really need to “be a runner.” But if you are competitive and have that need for speed and “eat hills for breakfast” we’ve got you covered. On top of that, if you don’t want to run overnight, we’ve crammed all the fun of a Ragnar Road into a 1-day event, called Sprint. Like we said, we’ve got you covered!

So what do you say? Ragnar will test you to your core, take you to beautiful places and create bonds with your teammates that are unexplainable. Grab your dream team and join us at the next Ragnar!
