At Ragnar, our legends are a little bit different. They don’t necessarily wear capes nor are they always the fastest on the course. But, they break down barriers, they set unique records and they inspire us to dig deeper and push further. 93-year-old WWII vet, Ernie Andrus, does just that. At Reebok Ragnar Del Sol, Ernie completed his fifth Ragnar Relay and his first one since running across the country to raise funds for the WWII ship, the LST 325.
His goal is to sail the LST 325 across the Atlantic to return it to Normandy for the 2019 D-Day Memorial Service, it would be the 75th anniversary of the ship. Knowing that it would take millions of dollars, Ernie will donate all the money to keep the ship seaworthy and continue to take it from port to port. He is still accepting donations here.
